We have an immediate need for an
Entry-Level Structural Engineer or Architect
Phoenix, Arizona: We have an immediate need for a structural engineer or architect. You should have an interest in forensic investigation, litigation support, and repair/retrofit design. You will be expected to execute investigations of existing buildings and design remedial repairs for damaged and deficient conditions. The investigations include failure origin and cause analysis, repair cost and feasibility analyses, property/builder's risk (insurance) response, litigation support, and repair design. You will be required to coordinate with other team members, support marketing efforts, and develop and maintain client relationships. This role can require up to three long-distance trips within the U.S. to various offices or sites each month.
- On-site investigation activities including measuring and documenting observations, photography, and sketching.
- Research of historical background of diverse structures, technical issues, building codes, and local ordinances.
- Organize field notes and research data for analysis and production of deliverables.
- Prepare reports using Microsoft Office applications and Bluebeam Revu.
- Analysis and design of concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and other structural systems.
- Production of construction documents using Autodesk Revit.
- No engineering/architecture experience required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in structural engineering, architectural engineering, or architecture (Master’s preferred).
- Architects require: valid NCARB Record for AXP experience.
- Structural Engineers require: valid EIT Certificate.
- Ability and willingness to drive a vehicle and travel within the US and internationally.
- Athletic level of physical fitness to climb and move two-story ladders, lift 50lbs, squat/bend/kneel repeatedly, and drive at least three consecutive hours.
- Experience in construction, farming/ranching, or military service preferred.
- Experience in programming/coding (HTML, JavaScript, Visual Basic, Python) preferred.
